The growth of both population and per capita income at international level is going to trigger a revolution for the food system at a global level. The increase of the food demand combined with the global warming implications will have as a consequence the lack of drinking waters and fertile lands to produce the food needed.

Pressure over natural resources will increase and private companies and countries will buy other companies, rights for fishing and lands all over the world making the food an strategic resource, lifting it to the same level as energy resources.

In front of this situation, we can´t speak just about sustainability, we have to advance and demand an integrated production of food, that is, when every people at every moment have access to food that is safe, authentic and nutritive, and the systems used for producing that food are sustainable, ethical, environmentally friendly and protect human rights of food work force.
